Ways to Support Your Teen

Listen

Don’t just hear what your teen has to say.  Be an active participant in conversations.  Ask questions, challenge their thinking, but above all, respect their opinion.

Support

She’ll always be your little girl, so lift her up just like you did all those years ago.  It’s a trying time in her life, so be there for her and guide her using the lessons you’ve learned from life and from ACT.

Share with her your experiences with cancer through family, friends or personal struggles.  But above all, share your family history that’s related to cancer and other health issues.

Care

She’ll struggle, she might stumble.  But the most important thing is that you encourage her to get back up.  Care for her physical, spiritual and emotional needs at every turn and she’ll grow into the strong and loving woman you knew she would.
